Mobile Mural Program

Brooksville Main Street invites artists to create an original art piece for their Mobile Mural Program. This is the sixth round of Mobile Murals! The murals will be unveiled at Brooksville Main Street's Florida Mermaid Trail Festival on February 18, 2023. Selected artists are required to participate in this event.

Theme: Grown in Brooksville

Front Porch Art Walk

Beginning January 7th and every first Saturday following, The Silver Dolphin will host a "Front Porch Art Walk" from 10 am to 2 pm. Selected artists may come and setup on the front porch of our restaurant to showcase and sell their work.

Art on Fire

The Hernando Fine Arts Council, in collaboration with the City of Brooksville, is proud to announce the Art on Fire Program. Interested artists will be permitted to “adopt” fire hydrants within the corporate limits of Brooksville and create artistic designs for them.

Call to Student Artists

The Tampa Bay Times Newspaper in Education program is seeking original artwork and poetry by high school students in Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk counties on the theme of Genocide in the 20th and 21st Centuries. High school students. Selected work will be featured in a public exhibition sponsored by the Tampa Bay Times Newspaper in Education program and Florida Humanities. One Grand Prize Winner will receive a $250 scholarship!

38th Annual Art in the Park

Art in the Park, held annually on the second weekend of March, is dedicated to fine art, craftsmanship, and community. More than 100 artists and artisans gather at Tom Varn Park in Brooksville to showcase a wide variety of works and mediums in Hernando County’s largest juried art show. We invite artists, crafters, musicians, and entertainers to apply! $6,500 in prize money

Auditions for Cinderella

Stage West Playhouse is seeking actors 18+ for their next production, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella! All rehearsals and performances will take place at 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd in Spring Hill

Audition Dates:
● Friday, December 9, 2022 - 7:00 PM
● Saturday, December 10, 2022 – 9:30 AM
● Callbacks by invitation - Sunday, December 11, 2022 - 2:00 PM

Adult Painting Class

The Hernando County YMCA is now offering adult painting classes! Join in on the fun on Wednesday, December 7 from 1:30 - 3 PM. Classes are led by YMCA member and artist, Bill Skinnard. You will create your own canvas painting during the month that you will take home at the end of the month. Register at the member service desk to reserve your spot!

$45 for Full Members
$75 for Basic Members

Dance Performance

DiBaile Dance School presents "The Birth" dance performance on Saturday, December 10, at Stage West Community Playhouse located at 8390 Forest Oak in Spring Hill.

Doors open at 6:30 PM, show starts at 7 PM

TAP Christmas Fundraiser

Traveling Art Parties is hosting a painting workshop at the Christmas Fundraiser on Thursday, December 15 at the U.S.C.G. Auxilary Station (4340 Calienta Street in Hernando Beach).

There will be lots of amazing artwork up for auction! A portion of proceeds will go to families in need to help with Christmas expenses. Tickets to participate in the painting workshop are $35 - bring a toy valued at $5 for a discount on your ticket price! This event does allow beer & wine (BYOB).
