Mermaid Statue UnveilingsMore mermaids are being added to the Mermaid Tale Trail everyday! We are so grateful to Florida’s Adventure Coast for the opportunity to partner on this public art project, along with Brooksville Main Street. Florida Native ExhibitThe Brooksville Gallery at 201 invites artists to submit artwork for the upcoming exhibit, Florida Native - opening on April 7. We hope to see lots of native plants and animal species, and more creative submissions that serve as tributes to Florida’s indigenous people and the Native land we live on.

Frankie Burnett Mural UnveilingOn February 15, the Elks Lodge #1270 unveiled a new mural of the Honorable Frankie Burnett, our first Black mayor who was born and raised in Brooksville. The artist, Solomon Gavin, received a scholarship from the Elks Lodge to attend art school in the 80s. This project was funded through our Community Art Grant!

Free Arts in Education WorkshopLast weekend, the Arts Council hosted its first free art workshop for kids! We created a collaborative mural with children in the South Brooksville community, and also learned a dance performance with the amazing Stir Up The Gift team! Thank you to the Elks Lodge #1270, Brooksville Main Street, and Brooksville Unique Boutique for your contributions to make this project happen!

Art on Fire RecognitionCity Council recognized the artists who painted the first round of "Art on Fire" hydrants. Design proposals are being considered for the second round of fire hydrants!
